Part-Time WordPress developer with strong PHP development skills sought to join a marketing consulting business focused on creating E-Commerce websites for direct to consumer…

We are on the hunt for someone special to join our extended family at Mastermind Consulting based in our Rozelle office. Someone with hands on developer skills with extensive experience building ecommerce sites utilizing WordPress as a core.

Mastermind has a unique opportunity to partner with an international ecommerce provider to roll out a world class ecommerce platform for wine and beverage brands utilising WordPress as a core. There’s global support, and we’ve spent months evaluating the brief requirements and we now need someone on the ground to help with the backend development to bring the solution to life for our winery brands. We have an internal designer on the team with experience in online design, so are particularly looking for more technical support to work alongside our team to own the back end development and integrations.

The relevant candidate will have:

  • An understanding of the entire web development process, including design, development, and deployment is preferred.
  • Excellent technical experience using WordPress
  • Solid CSS, HTML and JavaScript/jQuery skills
  • Ability to setup child themes
  • Ability to formulate an effective, responsive design and turning it into a working theme and plugin.
  • Trouble shooting and fixing of bugs
  • Both back-end and front-end development, including creating WordPress themes and plugins.
  • Have experience designing and developing responsive design websites
  • Have the ability to convert comprehensive layout and wireframes into working HTML pages
  • Experience with ecommerce integration – ability to think through customer experience online to maximize sales.
  • Have a strong understanding of PHP back-end development, MySQL
  • Are experienced with google tools (especially Google Tag Manager, setting up tracking goals and funnels)
  • Understanding and ability to incorporate practice technical SEO
  • API Integration
  • Be a technical translator, being able to explain technical solutions to our internal team and clients
  • A self-starter who isn’t scared to be thrown in the deep end
  • Ability to work independently and solve problems.

This is a part time freelance role, with possibility for longer term permanent employment. Hours will be negotiated subject to availability and project requirements but anticipating at least 1-2 days per week over the next few months.
