I am on the hunt for someone special to join our extended family as a Digital Marketing Specialist. I know it won’t be the role for everyone, but for that someone special this could well be your dream job.

You see, I’ve built Mastermind Consulting over the last nine years quite differently to the high profile corporate roles that I held previously. I wanted to build a company where we were a genuine marketing partner for small brands, and with a culture that attracted people who wanted to get in and make a difference. I’m incredibly proud that over the last 9 years this is what has been created. We’re a small and nimble consulting team made up of senior marketing professionals with a like-minded vision. We are ambitious, but understand that some days we need to pick up sick children, attend family functions or balance post-graduate study.

We work with some amazing clients in the food, wine and lifestyle industries, and focus on marketing strategy, content creation, digital and social media.

The big difference is that we’re all very hands on. Given we’re a small team we get highly involved in our client’s campaigns, and there’s a holistic approach to marketing that means we’re always looking at the big picture and having to look at a range of digital touchpoints to drive solutions. Digital, social and direct marketing are not seen in isolation.

The breadth of projects that we work on for our clients’ means that there’s great diversity at any given time. There’s always something new to learn, and a willingness from clients to implement strategic ideas across digital, social media and content marketing projects.

We’re looking for a like-minded digital/ social media marketing specialist to work in our team to implement client campaigns and projects. This is a hands on, analytical role – as a core part of a small team you’ll be required to be implementing client’s digital plans, analyzing results, reporting and helping with social media advertising campaigns. If you’re not happy to get your hands dirty and execute the campaigns, this may not be the right role for you.

The role would ideally suit someone who has come from an agency background, in roles like Digital Account Manager, Digital Marketing Specialist or Social Media Manager or Marketing Analyst.


  • Lead and facilitate the formulation of digital/ social media campaigns to deliver on clients’ objectives and revenue targets across platforms of focus
  • Generate online traffic to client’s websites through optimizing search, affiliate marketing, partnerships.
  • Implement digital marketing campaigns – helping clients send emails, manage social media campaigns and launch marketing and content marketing initiatives.
  • Audit existing client web and social media performance to make strategic recommendations to improve
  • Help to project manage clients’ website launches and liaising with suppliers to ensure sites launch on time.
  • Set up performance metrics, track and review all digital and direct marketing campaigns to ensure delivery of ROI and help to identify trends that can inform clients decision making.
  • Implement digital marketing campaigns including manage SEO/Google Adwords and re-targeting campaigns
  • Implement and manage paid social media advertising campaigns across various social media platforms with a focus on Facebook and Instagram
  • Helping clients with content and social media planning as needed
  • Provide campaign related social media reporting and analysis
  • Drive and manage email marketing campaigns for a range of clients including A/B Testing, segmenting data, testing and implementing workflow sequences


  • At least five years’ marketing experience with three years’ recent experience in the digital/social media environment
  • Tertiary qualifications in marketing or communications-related area (preferred)
  • A strong customer service orientation and the ability to form long-term customer relationships
  • Strategic thinker with strong written communication and presentation skills
  • Results and performance focused with strong analytical/numerical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines concurrently with flexibility to change plans quickly.
  • Understanding of and experience with core social media platforms: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Youtube, Snapchat etc
  • Up to date experience with SEO, SEM, Google Tools (eg Google Tagmanager, google analytics)
  • Working understanding of all facets of web development including strategies, design, planning, implementation, launch and maintenance.
  • Up-to-date experience with the following tools and software
  • Campaign Monitor/ Mailchimp
  • Project management tools like Basecamp
  • Facebook power editor
  • Ability to identify proactive opportunities to enhance our client’s businesses and keep up-to-date with the latest social strategies and trends

This is a full-time role given the number of clients’ we are assisting, but, I will tailor as a part time role for the right candidate (4 days min).

Given the nature of the small clients that we work with the salary range for the role is $80-85k + super depending on the level of experience.
